Step 1
Start looking for a wedding photographer early. Just as wedding halls and churches book early (almost a year), make sure you contact and get started booking a wedding photographer early as well.
-
Step 2
Attend bridal workshops, look in bridal magazines, and also in online directories to compile an initial list of available wedding photographers. Don't forget to ask friends and family for recommendations! Having a good recommendation from trusted friend can be invaluable!
-
Step 3
Interview your photographer. Ask them about their experience. Look at a portfolio of past events and photographs to make sure their style fits what you had in mind for your wedding pictures. Make sure you ask about pricing and packages for your wedding photographs, along with how long until you will receive your wedding photographs.
-
Step 4
Shop around and get a good feel for price and also any extra products or services you may want from your wedding photographer. Photographers can be hundreds to thousands of dollars, depending on quality, services, pictures, location, etc.
-
Step 5
Finally, make sure you are comfortable with your photographer and able to talk to them about what you want. This is just as important as pricing!
