Instructions

    • 1

Place open spray bottle on a flat surface and remove the lid. Set funnel into the opening.

    • 2

Measure water and cornstarch. Measure cornstarch into the funnel first. Use your fingers to push all of the cornstarch through the funnel and into the bottle. For stiffer starch, add an additional tablespoon of cornstarch. Pour water into the funnel over the spray bottle.

    • 3

Replace the lid of the spray bottle and turn the nozzle to the "off" position. Shake the mixture thoroughly.

    • 4

Make a label that indicates whether your starch mixture is stiff or regular. Make a note to remind you and anyone who uses it to shake before use, since homemade starch can clump. Repeat the process to make a different consistency starch if needed.

    • 5

Spray the starch on your clothing and allow it to dry before ironing.
