If you are on a budget as you get ready for back to school shopping, then try these simple tips. Your kids can look like a million bucks without having to spend that much.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • money
  • time
  • stores
  • open mind
  1. Step 1

Trendy and inexpensive back to school shopping can be an easy task if you know where to look and how to shop for the best prices. Depending on your budget, you can either shop for back to school items that will compliment a current wardrobe, or you can start fresh with a new season of clothing.

Back to School Fashion Tip Number One: Brand Names Aren't Crucial

Most of the time, you will be the only one who knows whether you are wearing a brand named item of clothing. Many discount stores like Wal-Mart, Target, and JCPenney's carry fashionable back to school attire that looks similar to expensive name brands. In fact, you can often find styles and patterns that look like the latest trends in stores that offer prices that are a quarter as much as those at designer stores. Typically, you are not sacrificing much in the way of quality either. So, don't focus on name brands only when you shop for back to school clothing, and you won't be nearly as limited in what you can buy.

  2. Step 2

Back to School Fashion Tip Number Two: Trendy Doesn't Mean Unusual

As you head back to school, some of the trendiest fashions are those that are basic and long-lived. For example, a well-fitting pair of jeans or a slenderizing pair of black pants can work like a charm when trying to dress fashionably within a budget. Basic pieces of back to school clothing are a valuable asset because you can mix and match accessories with these items. As a result, you will look and feel like you have lots of back to school outfits to choose from. If you wear jeans and a solid colored top, then you can add jewelry, scarves, purses, and shoes to change up the look. Your basic slacks and tops will create a neutral canvas to build upon as you purchase inexpensive accent items to embellish the outfit.

  3. Step 3

Back to School Fashion Tip Number Three: Sales are for Trendy Items Too

Designers and retail stores look for ways to sell their trendiest items because they want to get rid of inventory. Trendy fashions change from season to season, so stores will put back to school clothing and accessories on sale almost immediately. If you really want to buy trendy and inexpensive back to school items, then refuse to buy anything that isn't on sale. Even twenty-five or thirty-three percent off will make a big difference in the number of items you can purchase within your budget.

Back to school shopping can be a fun and rewarding venture if you take the time to make wise investments.

on 8/12/2009 The problem about the brand name clothing is that popular high school brands like Hollister or Abercrombie PLASTER their logo all over the clothing, so you know if you're wearing it or not.

Sadly, some people will actually look down on a student not wearing name brands plastered on their butt or chest.
