You will learn how to make the best prize winning green chili. This recipe won a best taste ribbon at a local chili cookoff contest. It's not too hot and not too mild. You can make it hotter by adding jalapenos or red pepper.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 lb cut up pork
  • 2 fresh roasted green chilies
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 cans roasted green chilies
  • 1 can Rotele
  • 2 tbls. oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups water
  1. Step 1

    Cut up the pork, dice the fresh roasted green chilies and the cloves of garlic. Pour flour into large ziplock baggie and add pork to coat, coat well.

  2. Step 2

    Put the 2 tbls. of oil into sauce pan and heat, add diced garlic cloves and let brown, when garlic is browned add cut up pork and brown. at this time you may add seasonings to taste.

  3. Step 3

    Once the pork and the garlic cloves are browned add diced green chilies, the cans of green chilies and the can of Rotele with the juices, add a couple cups of warm water and let simmer for about an hour or so. Add some more seasonings. The chili will seem a bit runny at this time but it will thicken.

Tips & Warnings
  • you can any seasonings you like to taste.
  • the zip lock bag works great instead of a bowl
  • Be careful when adding garlic to oil Cook pork thoroughly
