Monday morning conference calls were a nightmare with my kids asking me a million questions and fighting in the background. I didn't have the funds to hire a contractor and add an office. I did have a closet that was full of coats and stuff we never used. I don't mind conference calls anymore and am not running from room to room to avoid my kids.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    1. Clean out the office and paint it. I chose a light blue and a lighter shade of light blue for the ceiling. Don't forget to paint the ceiling for a finished look.

  2. Step 2

Bring in a rug - or you may feel like you're in an echo chamber. Add the desk and chair. Hang up some pictures and try to stay in the same color scheme. I chose dark brown and light blue.

  3. Step 3
    Back of door stickers

On the back of the door I added some brown and blue stickers. This way when I close the door it ties everything together.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look around your home and garage before buying anything. You may not have a desk, but a table that would work great as a desk. Find an old mirror and paint it the same color as the desk. Go to Salvation army and look for a chair. I spent $44.00 on paint and $39.00 on a rug from TJ Maxx home goods.
