Things You'll Need:
- 1 1/4 c Cornmeal
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 4 c Water
- 1/4 c Parmesan Cheese, grated
- 1/2 lb Sweet Italian Sausage, chopped
- 1/2 lb Hot Italian Sausage, chopped
- 1 tsp Olive Oil
- 1 26oz jar Garden-style Spaghetti Sauce
- 1 1/2 c Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
-
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-
Step 2
The Polenta. In a pot, heat water to a boil. Gradually whisk in cornmeal and salt.
Cook and stir over medium heat for about 5 minutes, until mixture comes to a rapid boil. Remove from heat. Now stir in the parmesan cheese until mixed well. -
Step 3
In a 13x9 greased baking dish, spread the polenta evenly along the bottom. Place in preheated oven for 20 minutes.
-
Step 4
While the polenta is baking, you may cook both types of sausage in the olive oil, over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until no longer pink. Drain in a strainer.
-
Step 5
Place sausage back in pan after drained. Add the spaghetti sauce and cook for about 5 minutes, or until heated thoroughly.
-
Step 6
Remove polenta from oven. Spread the sausage sauce mixture over the polenta evenly. Top with the mozzarella cheese. Place back in oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Let cool for 15 minutes before cutting.
-
Step 7
Now you can sit down and enjoy this wonderful recipe with your family!
