Step 1
ASK FOR ADVICE
These events are an excellent place to meet wedding professionals all in one convenient location. They are all gathered there waiting just for you, to vie for your attention and show you how they can help plan and execute the perfect wedding! Ask them to share their expertise in the form of advice or tips they’ve learned while working with past clients. -
Step 2
REGISTER FOR ALL OF THE PRIZES
At the larger shows, each exhibitor booth will have some sort of freebie for you. You can register to win great prizes such as jewelry, dream honeymoon packages, airline tickets, wedding dresses, and discounts on wedding services. Someone has to win, why shouldn’t it be you? -
Step 3
ASK FOR DISCOUNTS
Having everything under one roof can save you a ton of time and money because you don’t have to run around from one place to another. Instead of going to florists, wedding dress boutiques, bakeries, caterers, stationary shops, etc. you can go to an expo and find all of these things in one place. Not only will you save time, but often times you'll save money as well because the vendors are competing with one another and will offer discounted packages if you sign up for their services during the expo. -
Step 4
GATHER SAMPLES
Don't forget about wedding invitations and table settings. You'll find a huge selection of stationary designs as well as samples of paper, printing, and color choices. You can get price quotes as well, usually at a discounted rate. -
Step 5
TAKE PHOTOS AND NOTES
Expos are one of the best places to see multiple displays of floral displays and get an idea of pricing for your wedding flowers. Take a lot of notes and photographs of the type of flowers and arrangements you like best. Having these as reference will come in handy when it’s time to make a final decision. -
Step 6
PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS
The larger bridal expos will most likely have a free fashion show where you can see a wide variety of wedding dress styles and materials. Ask for samples of any materials or colors you like. You can get some great ideas on what type of accessories to wear with your gown such as jewelry, shoes, tiaras, and veils. Don’t be afraid to ask if you can try things on. -
Step 7
TAKE A TASTE TEST
Another great feature of bridal expos is the taste testing. Caterers, pastry chefs, and top chefs will be begging you to sample their offerings. You'll find a huge selection of menu options, cake decorations and flavors, and table settings. Ask for a price list on standard fare and if they having any cost cutting advice they'll share with you. -
Step 8
GATHER BROCHURES
You'll find a large collection of representatives from hotels, clubs, restaurants, and other facilities with stacks of info trying to get you to choose their location for your wedding. You can get ideas on decorations, pricing, features, and availability. If your budget is strained, don’t be afraid to ask if they have any lower cost options that haven't been presented. -
Step 9
GET BUSINESS CARDS
Bridal expos are an excellent source for finding wedding photographers, videographers and music DJ's. You can see samples of their work and even hear samples of the music offered. -
Step 10
TAKE YOUR TIME
The majority of vendors will be offering some great discounts and package deals if you will sign up on the spot. Don’t let yourself get caught up in the moment or be pressured into buying anything without considering all the options.
