Step 1
Re-purpose items from other rooms. Take a look around your house and see what you might have that can be used in the room you are decorating. Check the basement or attic for items that were once put away that you might be able to use in your new room.
-
Step 2
Re-frame pictures or paintings. Giving a favorite picture a new frame gives it a totally new look!
-
Step 3
Take down existing pictures in the room and either replace them with new ones, or hang them in a new arrangement.
-
Step 4
Paint an accent wall. If painting the entire room is not in your budget try adding a new color to just one wall. It will give the room a whole new look at a fraction of the cost.
-
Step 5
Rearrange the furniture. Sometimes rearranging the furniture in a room can make it feel like it's been redone!
-
Step 6
Scout out good buys at garage sales, discount stores or on eBay. Look for sales on items in your favorite department stores and be sure to check out the clearance sections! You never know what you might find.
-
Step 7
Slipcover an old couch or chair for a fresh new look. Add a few throw pillows for a splash of color!

on 9/25/2009 I do a lot of these things in my home from time to time. It freshens things up and it's good feng shui as well. I like your idea of reframing a favorite picture. Good tips.
