Make a Key Lime Frappe
Make a Key Lime Frappe

Key Lime Pie is delicious but can be fattening and time consuming to make. Why not make a Key Lime Pie Frappe. It is delicious, cool, creamy, low calorie, and a piece of cake (err I mean pie) to make.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cups fat free vanilla yogurt
  • 1/4 cup fat free milk
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons graham cracker crumbs.
  1. Step 1

The first step is to make the graham cracker crumbs. If you have kids you can put a graham cracker in a ziplock and let them squeeze and crush it into crumbs. This way they feel good helping and are busy.

  2. Step 2

Now take a zester and get your lime zest. If you do not have a zester just use a knife and carefully peel off little bits of the top layer of the lime.

  3. Step 3

Now grab that fat free yogurt, milk and lime juice and put it in the blender with 1/2 of your zest. All you need to do is blend it for 1 or two minutes. It blends that quickly.

  4. Step 4

Now take the remaining zest, cinnamon, and put them in the ziplock with the graham crackers and mix.

  5. Step 5

Now pour it into clear glasses. You will see a specks of the zest in the glass to give it a beautiful appearance.

  6. Step 6

Take the cinnamon, zest, and graham cracker mix and sprinkly it on top of the frappe for a beautiful presentation.

  7. Step 7

Last, but certainly not least, enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can substitute any citrus fruit for the lime
  • You can use berries, apricots, plums, or peaches in lieu of the lime juice
  • You can use frozen yogurt for a thicker frappe
  • You can use ice cream for a richer taste
  • You can sneak protein power in this to ramp up the nutrition
