Extend the Life of a Sagging Mattress
Extend the Life of a Sagging Mattress

This is a simple way to extend the life of a sagging mattress. I have known many people to use it to get a couple more years of use from it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3/8" sheet plywood
  • Saw
  • Mattress Set
  1. Step 1

The main reason that your mattress is sagging is because of a lack of support under it. Most of the time the coils still have lots of life left in them.

  2. Step 2

The first step to saving our current bed is to head to the hardware store and purchase a piece of 3/8" plywood. Make sure to purchase 2 sheets if you have a full size bed or bigger.

  3. Step 3

Now remove the mattress from on top of the box spring. Lay the pieces of plywood on top of the box springs and trace the edge of the box springs on the boards with a marker.

  4. Step 4

Take the boards away form the bed and cut off the edge that you have marked.

  5. Step 5

Now lay the boards back on top of the box spring and then lay down your mattress. Instantly your bed should firm up as we have removed the extra sag created by the worn out box springs. Enjoy your mattress again!
