Things You'll Need:
- Tea bags
- Hot water
-
Step 1
Immediately check the bite for a stinger and remove if one is present. Once you have determined that there is no stinger remaining, you are ready for step 2. **The key to this remedy is speed of execution. The longer before it is applied, the longer the Bees' poison has to work and spread into the skin ...so do this as quickly as you can.**
-
Step 2
Quickly start running hot water in your tap to the highest temperature tolerable on the skin.
-
Step 3
Once water is hot, run it over a common tea bag. A family size tea bag is ideal ...we use Luzianne! ;) , but any brand will do.
-
Step 4
Once tea bag is well saturated (dripping is good!), apply the bag directly over the sting area. The heat and tea helps to draw the poison out and relieve the stinging sensation. Repeat as necessary by reheating the bag under hot water as needed.

on 8/12/2009 Thanks for the comment...I'm not sure about other bites, I've never tried it for anything but
Bee stings...It's something my husband came up with one day out of desperation when he got into a hive and got 8 stings at once! Certainly couldn't hurt to try it on say mosquito bites...who knows it might work!

on 8/11/2009 This is brilliant! I wonder if it works for other bites as well? I tend to stay away from bees, but they seem to find me. This is a must read for all parents and ones who love the outdoors. 5 stars and recommending.
