Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water Polo Balls
  • Water polo balls
  1. Step 1

Swim freestyle, hard and head high, toward the goal, with the ball out in front of you. The ball should be slightly farther ahead of you than is typical.

  2. Step 2

Pick up the ball from underneath with your weak hand as your stroke pulls back beneath it. Hold the ball on your fingertips, slightly above the surface of the water.

  3. Step 3

Pull the ball into the teed-up position, back toward your face.

  4. Step 4

Shoot the ball with your strong arm as it moves forward on your next stroke. Shoot with your fingertips, firing the ball off the tee.

  5. Step 5

Aim for the corner of the goal.

Tips & Warnings
  • This shot should look like part of your swim stroke.
  • Try to shoot the ball immediately after teeing it up. The shot will not work if the goalie has time to recognize what you are about to do.
  • If you have any condition that could impair or limit your ability to engage in physical activity, please consult a physician before attempting this activity. This information is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.
