Make Delicious EASY French Dip Sandwiches at Home

French Dip Sandwiches are one of my Favorites, and one of those things I often order at restaurants. I never knew until lately how easy and inexpensive they are to make at home! All you need is sliced roast beef from the local grocery store deli, with some sandwich buns and au jus mix, and you can whip these delicious sandwiches up in just minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sandwich sliced roast beef from your local deli. 1/3 lb per sandwich.
  • French sandwich rolls
  • Johnny's Au Jus mix
  • Provolone or Havarti cheese is delicious, but optional.
  1. Step 1

Prepare your Au Jus mix in a small saucepan, per the package directions.

  2. Step 2

Warm your sliced roast beef by putting it in a covered casserole dish and microwaving on half power for about 2 minutes. You don't want to use high heat because it will toughen the meat. Shuffle the meat in the dish, and continue heating on half power for 1 minute intervals until warm. Alternately, you can wrap it in foil and heat in the oven until warm.

  3. Step 3

Toast the Sandwich rolls, if desired.

  4. Step 4

Butter the sandwich rolls, and put about 1/3 lb of roast beef on each sandwich. If desired, add a slice of provolone or havarti cheese.

  5. Step 5

Ladle the Au Jus into a ramekin or small dish, and serve with sandwich. Delicious, and SO easy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Serve with salad or fries
