While you are cleaning everything else, don't forget the combs and brushes. They are easy to take care of and besides, who really wants to comb their clean hair with a dirty brush or comb! Yuck! Now read this carefully. The steps are not actually steps but ideas you can use to clean with.

Things You'll Need:

    Now this first suggestion is to clean combs. Use adhesive tape to clean your combs. Press it on hard and pull off. The tape helps clean the teeth on the combs. Finish off by making a solution of 1/2 water and 1/2 alcohol and dipping the combs in it. It will help remove any bacteria...

    Next tip..run a basin of warm water and add a couple of tablespoons of baking soda to it. The soda will cut the oil and grease which builds up. Rinse well and wash additionally with the same shampoo you use to wash your hair or baby shampoo. Rinse and let dry on a towel.

  3. Step 3

    You can use plain old household ammonia to clean combs and brushes. Take a mixture of six parts water to one part ammonia. Let brushes and combs soak, then rinse thoroughly. Again, let dry on a towel.

  4. Step 4

    Now this one is the hardest to believe ... Sprinkle cornmeal on the brush bristles and comb thru. Wash the cornmeal out with baby shampoo and rinse. You can add some alum to your rinse water to stiffen the bristles again. Keep on cleaning...

  • You can add this to your clean regime when you are cleaning your bathroom
  • As with any household cleaners use with care, avoid eyes and always rinse well
