How to Kill Weeds and Grass in walkway it's Pet Friendly
I have chicken, cats and dogs and needed to find a way to Kill grass and weeds in a my walkway without using harmful chemicals that would harm or kill my pets. I tried the hot water method. It did not work well for me. This is the cheep and safe way to get rid of those unwanted weeds. Does this Spark an idea?

Buy a large quantity of table salt or rock salt from the feed store or a hardware store. I buy the 50 pound bag of rock salt from the feed store. Costco has big bags of table salt for a few dollars.

Put water on the area with weeds or unwanted grass. I use a hose to water. Only water the area with weeds and or grass. Make sure to soak the ground thoroughly. Do not water for awhile after you put on the salt.

Pour the salt on the weeds or grass until they are completely covered and let it sit. The salt should be about a quarter of an inch thick over the weeds or grass.

Do not water for a few days. The salt will slowly penetrate the soil and kill the weeds in about two days. Earth worms will come out of the ground. My chickens eat them so they don't go to waste around here. Sorry they have to die, but at least there is not grass in the cracks.

Tips & Warnings
Do this every other month and you will never have unwanted weeds or grass again.
Do not put salt on the grass or around flowers you wish to keep. Salt will Kill anything it gets on so be careful where it will leak into.
