While concrete is one of the hardest and most durable surfaces, it is prone to accumulating dirt, grime and even oil and grease spots. If your driveway, patio or basement floor needs a good cleaning, you don't need to spend a ton of money or take a lot of time to clean it. Just one simple ingredient will do the trick.
Things You'll Need
- Garden hose with nozzle
- Stiff broom or brush
- Oxygen bleach
Wash off the area to be cleaned with water from a hose. Use the highest pressure you can with the nozzle. Sweep off any mud or debris.
Mix in 1/2 cup of oxygen bleach to 1 gallon of hot water in a bucket and stir until dissolved.
Pour the mixture onto the concrete and let it stand for about 10 minutes to do its magic. This should be done in a shady area or on a cloudy day to keep the mixture from drying up too fast.
Scrub the area with the stiff broom to help break the dirt loose. Brush in all different directions to get a good cleaning.
Hose the area off and watch the dirt wash away. Repeat the process if more dirt and stains remain.
