We want more fun!
We want more fun!

Cats become easily bored with their toys. Every couple of weeks, put them away and substitute them with one or two of these easy suggestions.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper bags
  • Shoe boxes
  • Clothes baskets
  • Planters
  • Shredded paper
  • Empty cat food bags
  • Nature videos

Paper bags make boring toys more fun

Paper bags are an old time favorite. Put one on either side of the room for extra excitment

  2. Step 2

Collect shoe boxes. Kitties love them

  3. Step 3

Clothes baskets are fun for multiple cats

  4. Step 4

If you buy a large planter for inside or out, let them explore it first.

  5. Step 5

Collect shredded paper from home or office, and fill a large box. It makes a mess, but they are entertained for hours.

  6. Step 6

Empty cat food bags are great. They will destroy them, but so what. Good fun.

  7. Step 7

My cats love nature shows. When there is a bird or rodent program on, I put their kitty condo's in front of the t.v. Record any they show interest in.

  8. Step 8

Returning their old toys inbetween these suggestions makes them seem new again.

Tips & Warnings
  • Switch things around to keep things fresh. Let them in a forbidden closet once and awhile.
  • Check for hidden dangers, like sharp items or posins in a closet. Check for open staples in boxes. Make sure bags are as easy to get out of as they are to get into.

on 10/8/2009 I look at cat and dog toys in the stores and try to duplicate them with stuff around the house if I can. I think most of their fun comes when we interact with them no matter what the toy is!
