How to Keep the Trash Bag From Slipping in the Kitchen

Everyone has problems with those kitchen trash bags getting pushed to the bottom of the trash container when you try to put something in it. EASY and CHEAP way to solve this problem in 2 steps!

ADDED BONUS -- Save money by buying regular trash bags without the "ties" needed to keep it on the trash container!

Things You'll Need:

• Package of elastic, width can be from 1/2" to 1" or even more

1. 

   Measure the circumference of your trash can, and cut a piece of elastic that is 2 inches shorter than the circumference. The elastic can be almost any width -- wider (1 inch or so) will keep the bag on better.

2. 

   Tie the ends of the piece of elastic together, knotting them at the end. Slip the elastic over the top of the trash container, at the top, over the edges of the bag.Finished!

3. When you remove the trash, first remove the elastic holder. When you replace a new bag, slip the elastic holder on to hold the bag. No more slipping trash bags!

Tips & Warnings

• This can save you money since you no longer need to buy the expensive "quick-tie" trash can bags with ties to pull the bag closed to keep it on the trash container!
• Keep extra bags in the bottom of the trash can. When the bag is full and you pull it out, you have a ready supply of replacement bags right at your fingertips!
