How to make chocolate haystacks

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter chips
  • 3 cups chow mien noodles
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 3/4 cup caramel toffee candies
  1. Step 1

You will need a large sauce pan where you will add the chocolate chips and the peanut butter chips. You will melt these over low heat until completely melted. Then remove from the heat and give a quick stir to insure all of the chips are melted. At this time you will need a rubber spatula to stir the chow mien noodles in. Stir until completely coated.

  2. Step 2

Then you will stir in the dried cherries. Then you will need a flat surface where you will place sheets of wax paper. You will spoon heaping tablespoons of the mixture onto the wax paper. Then you will sprinkle with the caramel toffee candies that you have broken into pieces.

  3. Step 3

You will need to press down the candies so that they stick. Then you will need to allow the candies to cool completely before moving off of the waxed paper to a serving tray. These are great little snacks for your children for school or for a special occasion. It looks as if you spent hours making them and little do they know it only took a few minutes.
