This is a very simple and basic way to safely and without harmful chemicals remove cooking oil and grease stains from your clothing or fabric.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Grease fighting liquid dish washing soap (not for a dishwasher).
  1. Step 1

As soon as you notice a grease or oil stain on your clothing or fabric immediately or as soon as possible put a small dab (enough to completely cover the soiled area)of household dish liquid soap directly on the soiled area. Do not wash and dry the clothing item until these steps are completed.

  2. Step 2

Use your finger tip and/or fingernail to gently rub the dish liquid into the soiled area. Be sure to completely cover the soiled area. At times depending may be necessary to apply extra pressure when rubbing in the dish liquid soap.

  3. Step 3

Wait about 5 minutes to allow the dish liquid to break up the oil or grease stain.

  4. Step 4

Rinse with hot running water until you notice that the stain is gone.

  5. Step 5

As soon as possible lauder your clothing garment according to the label instructions.

Tips & Warnings
  • This works best if you immediately treat the soiled area.
  • Any brand grease fighting dish liquid works.
  • Do not dry the garment in your household dryer if the stain remains. Hang dry it and repeat the steps if necessary. If the clothing garment is dried with the grease stain still visible, it will become permanent.
