Instructions

1. Choose shades that complement your eye color. Try cool colors such as blue, purple, gray and green with darker eyes and warmer colors such as tan, brown and bronze with lighter colored eyes.

2. Apply a neutral or lighter shade to your entire lid with a quality eye makeup brush.

3. Sweep a darker color in the same color family onto the crease area of your eyelid. Start from the outer corner and sweep inward about one-third of the way across the outer corner and crease of your lid.

4. Add the lightest color to the area from the top of your eyelid to your brow. Stick with the same color family. For instance, you might use a tan color on your lid, a brown on your crease and a shimmery cream color near your brow.

5. Use muted tones for a casual daytime look. Use bolder colors and shades with shimmery tones for dressier evening events.

6. Finish your look with an application of eyeliner and mascara.
