You will learn how to steam crab legs and prepare a wonderful bottom-of-the-ocean meal. Continue reading to find out how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • crab
  • kosher salt
  • sugar
  • butter
  1. Step 1

Remove your crab from the grocery store packaging and set aside on the counter. Fill a large steaming pot with 3/4 water, half a cup of granulated sugar and a few pinches of sea salt or kosher salt.

  2. Step 2

Bring your water to almost a boil and then drop in your crab legs. You will want to cook your crab until all of it is warm/hot. Crab does not take very long to cook so the entire cook time will be about 7 minutes give or take a few minutes.

  3. Step 3

If any part of your crab is still cold, then it is not done. Your crab should be hot to the touch and once it is, then it is now ready to be plated and eaten!

  4. Step 4

You can serve your crab with melted butter or it can be eaten without. Since you are using sugar in the steam pot, usually butter is not needed as the crab will already be very flavorful.
