Chicken Soup has to one of the greatest soup ever invented. Who doesn't love Chicken Soup? We can all remember a time when our Mom's made us chicken soup because we didn't feel well. This recipe is by far the best I've ever had. It has everything a chicken soup is supposed to have and more. It will bring you back to your childhood.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 (2 to 3 pound) whole chicken
  • 1 pound of carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 4 stalks of celery with leaves, chopped
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 cubes beef bouillon, crumbled
  • 1 packet chicken noodle soup mix
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 pinch dried thyme
  • 2 bay leaves
  • fresh ground pepper (to taste)
  • 1 pinch poultry seasoning
  • 1 pinch dried parsley
  • 1 pinch dried basil
  • 1 package noodles or pasta of your choice
  1. Step 1

Place the chicken in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add celery leaves and bring to a boil.

  2. Step 2

Reduce heat to simmer. Simmer until chicken is cooked though. (30-40 mins)

  3. Step 3

Take the chicken out and put into separate bowl until cool enough to handle.
    (Do Not Discard the Liquid)

  4. Step 4

Strain the liquid and put back into the pot.

  5. Step 5

Add Soup mix, chicken broth, beef bouillon, onion, carrots,
    celery.
Also add thyme, basil, fresh ground pepper, bay leaves, parsley and poultry seasoning.

  6. Step 6

When chicken is cooled off, take the meat off and shred into bite sized pieces. Return the chicken meat to the pot. Cook until vegetables are tender up to 90 minutes.

  7. Step 7

Cook noodles or pasta in separate pot.

  8. Step 8

Put some noodles or pasta in a bowl. Add soup over noodles or pasta. Enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Cook pasta or noodles separately so they do not become soggy.
