This is not a hard project, but time consuming. Most women work outside the home now and rarely have time to bake at all, let alone for their dog! Let's go through the steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Whole Wheat Flour
  • Spelt Flour
  • Rolling Oats
  • Flax Seeds
  • All natural peanut better
  • Water
  • Greased cookie sheets
  • Rolling pin
  • Cookie cutters of desired shapes
  • Oven pre heated to 350 degrees
  1. Step 1

In a large bowl you combine 2 cups of whole wheat flour, 2 cups of spelt flour, 2 cups of fast cooking rolling oats, and 1/4 cup of flax seeds. Mix together well.

  2. Step 2

Next, stir in 2 1/2 cups of warm water and add 1/2 cup of all natural peanut butter. Once the dough is stirred enough to handle with your hands, remove it from the bowl and place in on a floured area of the counter. Knead the dough until it is smooth and no longer sticky. You may need to add more flour to achieve this.

  3. Step 3

Now get your rolling pin and roll the dough out on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick. Cut the dough into desired shapes with cookie cutters and place on greased cookie sheets.

  4. Step 4

Bake the cookies in the pre-heated oven (350 degrees) for 40 minutes. DON'T TAKE THEM OUT OF THE OVEN. When the 40 minutes is up, turn the oven off, but leave the cookies in the oven until they are completely cool. You have just made very nutritious treats for your dog, that he or she will actually like.
