Taper candles decorated with metallic pipe cleaners can be very festive for your dining room table. Your guests will not only admire them, but will ask you how they can make them, too. A trip to your local craft stores will be the place to look for these metallic tinsel pipe cleaners. Time to get out that box of unused tape candles you have been storing for a special occasion and give them a new look!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • taper candles, unused
  • metallic tinsel pipe cleaners
  • candle holders
  1. Step 1

Take one pipe cleaner and starting at one end, roll it inward to form a spiral. The spiral can be tightly curled or have space between each curl made. Leave 6" to 7" of the pipe cleaner untwisted and straight.

  2. Step 2

With the straight end, wind it around the candle, starting at the top. As you wrap the pipe cleaner around the candle, make sure it is secure. Wrap it so that an inch or more space is visible on the candle. Then gently slide down the pipe cleaner to the base of the candle. When the pipe cleaner is wound this way, it will sit on the base and not slip off accidentally. Then stick the wrapped candle in your candleholder.

  3. Step 3

Try using silver pipe cleaners on blue candles, gold pipe cleaners on white, purple, or red candles, and copper pipe cleaners on green or purple candles.
