Setting up a Goldfish Aquarium with ease

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 20 gallon fish aquarium
  • water conditioner
  • Decorations for Aquarium
  • gravel
  • filter
  • goldfish
  • food
  1. Step 1

Buy the fish tank(aquarium)and the deocrations, gravel water conditioner and filter system. Do not buy any fish at this time!

  2. Step 2

Take everything home and rinse it off and decide where you will be placing the tank(Aquarium) Do not place in front of a window! The sunlight from the window will cause the water to eventually turn green with algae!

  3. Step 3

Place the tank in it's new home and get ready to add water and be sure to use the water conditioner you bought to take out any chlorine and or chloramine that will be in the tap water( bottle water still needs to have the conditioner added as well)

  4. Step 4

Place the filter system that you purchased with the tank in the aquarium IE. recommend a filter that hangs on the back for much more easy access and monthly maintenance.

  5. Step 5

Add the gravel that you purchased and the decorations but do not add fish for a week or so.

  6. Step 6

let the tank cycle and then take a water sample to your local pet store for sampling. if all is well the you can purchase your goldfish!

Tips & Warnings
  • You will not need a heater for this type of tank because goldfish are cold-water type fish.
  • When you bring your fish home make sure to "Float" The bag that you bring them home in for at least 10 minutes to acclimate the fish to your water temps which maybe a little different than the store you bought them from!!!
  • Do not add more than 2 inches of fish per 2 gallons of water!!!
  • Add only one to two fish at a time so as not to stress out the fish and your delicate water conditions!!!
