2. Go to college and get a degree, in the field you plan on working in. This is a good way to skip being an asst. general manager, to go right to being a general manager.

3. To move up to the position of general manager, it is very important that you study how and what he does on a daily basis. If you are a model employee and the manager leaves you in charge every time the asst. manager isn't there, you're probably close to being a manager.
