How to Make a Bottlecap Necklace

Easy to follow steps on how to make a bottle cap necklace.

Things You'll Need

• String/wire/cloth(necklace material)
• creativity
• wire cutter
• paper clips
• drill or tiny hole punch
• pliers

Instructions

1. 

   BOTTLECAPS. Decide what kind of necklace you want to make out of the bottle caps. Design the necklace and decorate the bottle cap or caps as you wish. The type of necklace depends on the bottle cap design and decor.

2. 

   NECKLACE. Decide what type of material you want to use for your necklace. Again, this should be based on the bottle cap design. Simple bottle caps just use a simple piece of string. For more decorative and fancy jewelry use a sterling silver necklace or wiring of sorts, wiring can be found at local hardware or jewelry store. Cloth or ribbon will even work.

3. 

   CONNECTING THE CAP AND NECKLACE. There are many ways to connect the bottle caps to the necklace. The design and creativity of the cap will dictate how you want to attach and to what.

4. 1. 1. The easiest way is to use a tiny metal hole puncher or hole punch starter which can be found in most households or hardware stores and are inexpensive. Simply punch little holes in the caps on the sides of on the very tops and string on the chosen necklace design. Go thru the holes or snip a paperclip into little pieces and us the pliers or your hands to make small enclosed circles out of them and connect cap to necklace this way(Sterling silver rings/hoops for fancy jewelry).

5. 2. THE CLASP. If you use string simply double loop the end of the string on both ends and again you can use a heavy duty paperclip as a clasp to connect the necklace ends. Fancier necklaces may want to purchase a clasp online or at a store. If you use ribbon you can simply tie a bow knot.

6. 3. BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN. Have fun as this is a craft project for all ages and is very inexpensive.
