Credit cards are killing you --- it's time to break the credit card habit. Using credit cards to buy merchandise is a bad idea. You need to change your habits and switch to an all cash system for purchases. Do you think that breaking your credit card habit is difficult? The answer? No, actually it is quite simple if you follow these step-by-step instructions.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Cut up all your credit cards except for one in order to break your credit card habit.

  2. Step 2

Throw the credit card pieces in the garbage can in order to prevent someone from finding them and getting the credit card number.

  3. Step 3

Establish a cash envelope system for your household budget.

  4. Step 4

Write the name of each category on the envelope and fill it with cash.

  5. Step 5

Explain to your family member that you are breaking the credit card habit.

  6. Step 6

Be prepared to find yourself without cash before the month is over.

  7. Step 7

Find something that you can do to make extra cash during the month. For example, I help people move for $25.00 per hour. A few moving jobs each week prevents me from using my credit card.

  8. Step 8

Assess how you are doing at the end of the month and break the credit card habit for good.
