Instructions

    • 1

Get the items you will need, which is a cup, salt, and a straw. Go to any sink you choose. This will make similar mixtures you buy in the store.

    • 2

Once you are at a sink, pour approximately 1/2 teaspoon of salt into the cup. Regular table salt works, but you can use another type of salt. Run the water to get it to about body temperature. Pour into the cup, roughly, a cup of water. Mix the salt and water to make a salt water mixture.

    • 3

You may want to cut the straw in half or a little more than half. Put the straw into the cup so the straw almost touches the bottom and put your finger over the end, end in the air, to siphon the salt water mixture. Tilt your head back, so you are looking at the ceiling, and put the end of the straw in one nostril. Remove your finger to release the salt water mixture into your sinuses.

    • 4

With your head still back, move your head from left to right allowing the mixture to move from one sinus cavity to the other. Tilt your head forward over the sink and allow the salt water mixture to run out of your nose. Blow your nose to remove all the mucus. Redo this once more to remove any left over mucus.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to siphon as much salt water mixture as you can

  • Do not do this more than two times a day. This can dry out your nasal passages from the salt.

  • Use at your own risk, otherwise use store bought mixtures.
