Things You'll Need:
- Research skills.
- Creativity.
- Commitment to the green movement.

Step 1
Do your reading about being green!Research the green efforts that have already been made in your industry. Even industries that don't have a long history of being green probably do have at least some green efforts under their belts. For example, the demolition industry isn't known for being green but they do put an emphasis on recycling of demolition waste. Learn everything that you can about what's already being done to go green in your business.
-
Step 2
Join the green movement!Implement as many of these green actions as you can. It's easiest to start with what's already worked for someone else so start here.
-
Step 3
What are your green ideas?Brainstorm all of the other green things that you can do in your business. Think simple at first. There are basic green actions that most businesses can take like turning all lights off in your store at night, looking for local shipping to reduce transportation waste and recycling anything that you might otherwise dispose of.
-
Step 4
Get into green networking!Start connecting with others in the industry who want to go green. Reach out to people in your line of work. Use social networking and in-person meetings to discuss the importance of being green in the industry. Form a group that can help you brainstorm green ideas and implement green changes.
-
Step 5
Let people know how green you are!Spread the word about your green efforts. Once you've started to go green, make sure that everyone knows it. This will naturally get other people on the green bandwagon with you and make moving forward even easier.
-
Step 6
Keep finding new ways to be green!Continue to learn about green issues in your industry. The more that you know, the better off you'll be at repeating these steps and improving upon them in order to go green.
