Without sanitation and sterilization of manicure and pedicure tools, you run the risk of spreading bacterial and fungal infections among users. All tools should be clean of dirt and debris and sterilized often. Even if you wash your tools with soap and water, you still need to sterilize often to kill germs that may have been left behind by washing.
Wash all tools with dish detergent and very hot water. Remove any and all visible debris.

Rinse tools and briefly dry. Place cleaned tools on a cookie sheet dedicated exclusively to sanitizing your tools. Make sure they are not touching. Put the sheet in the oven and leave for 15 minutes.

Allow tools to cool once removed from oven. Place them in an airtight bag or medical pouch.

Do not attempt to sterilize nonmetallic tools with this procedure.
