Making soft food for your sick or picky ferret.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Spoon
  • Cup
  • Blender or grinder
  • Crunchy ferret food
  • Crunchy granola bars
  • Peanut butter (optional)
  • Ferretvite supplement (optional)
  • Dried raisins (optional)
  1. Step 1

This recipe lasts for about a week ! The crunchy items have to be ground up using the grinder or blender (granola bar & ferret food).3 cups of ferret food & 1 packet of granola bar (honey oat or apple seems to work the best but can also use peanut butter)Blend or grind these into a powder and mix together.(blending them together also works.

  2. Step 2

Time for the other stuff mix in 2 teaspoon Ferretvite, 3 teaspoons peanut butter mix well it should still have a dry texture . your ferret lives off of protein so help them. This is where u can store it for use during the week.

  3. Step 3

When it's feeding time it should be mixed in these proportions 2 to 1 & 3 to 1 this means 2 or 3 parts water and 1 part food should look like a slurpy at first *it soaks in* . you want it smooth a creamy for them. If there not drinking water and are dehydrated make it creamier .You can also use "pedialite".

  4. Step 4

This is just one recipe for food .

Tips & Warnings
  • If there real sick see a vet. But this brought my little girl ferret back from the fringe of death. It also keeps my 2 boy ferrets happy when they get a snack.
  • Blender works the best but i use a grinder.
  • things in this are optional and can be experimented with! Test the recipes on your ferret to see if they like it.
  • If there real dehydrated the supplement can make it worse by giving them the runs and dehydrating them further.
  • Try natural foods for the granola and the peanut butter (less sugar in it the better)u don't want a diabetic ferret !
  • Over-eating will make them very fat be careful please.
