Things You'll Need:
- Knowledge
- Strong Disciple
- After school programs
- Sports

Step 1
It is very important for parents to educate them self on gang culture. Some parents have lost their child or children to gangs due to the fact they were unable to see the early signs of gang involvement. One sign to look out for is colors. Many street gang member wear certain colors regularly so they can identify each other.
-
Step 2
Sign your child or children up for after school activities. This will help keep them doing something positive and away from the wrong crowd. Many school and youth centers have after school programs for children of all ages. Those programs usually involve sports and arts which last for a few hours everyday after school.
-
Step 3
Talk to your child about the negative effects of gang life. Which include prison, death, shooting, and drugs. Many young kids might think being in a gang cool until it is too late. By the time some kids realize gang life is not for them, they are usually in a difficult situation that will most likely alter the rest of their life. So help prevent this from happening, by thoroughly educating your kids on the harsh reality of gang life. This will help them understand how serious gang culture is. And will more than likely keep them far far away from it.

on 10/16/2009 Good tips to keep your kids out of gangs. You have to start early if you want to be successful. If they are already involved with the wrong croud you will have your work cut out for you. Its still possible for them to change but you really will have to work at it. Good luck to all the parents out there. 5* and recommend. This is a great article and a very important topic for all parents!
