Shave Your Legs without Using Shaving Cream or Gel

It is important to know how to shave your legs effectively without using shaving cream, particularly when you travel. Some shaving creams and gels come in travel sizes, but most don't and those that do don't hold much. So if you find yourself without shaving cream at home or you simply don't want to bother packing a bulky shaving cream container when you travel, consider these tips for shaving your legs without it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider switching to a brand of razor that has a built-in gel strip or bar, like the Schick Intuition or the Gillette Venus Spa Breeze. That way you never have to find anything to make your legs slick for shaving. The razor comes with it in one package.

  2. Step 2

Use hair conditioner. Most hotel rooms provide this with the room so you don't have to pack anything extra.

  3. Step 3

Default to the old standby: soap. You can also use body wash or shampoo. Anything that allows your razor to glide over your skin easily will work in a pinch. Make sure to rinse your razor thoroughly between swipes.

Tips & Warnings
  • If using soap, use it sparingly. You only need enough to make your legs slippery.
  • Be sure to rinse your legs carefully and moisturize your skin when finished. Using a man's after-shave gel can also soothe and condition your skin nicely.
