Things You'll Need:
- 1 Quart of water in a 2 Quart pot.
- 1 Package Deluxe Mac and Cheese.
- A stovetop.
- A wooden spoon.
- A hungry child. (Optional)
-
Step 1
First, lets get the water on the stove, and up to temperature. Just put it on the burner, and stick it on high. Add some salt, not much, just a pinch. Salt increases the salinity of the water, which is obvious enough. Higher salinity lowers the boiling point of water and makes it not only boil faster, but reduces the chances of over-cooking and water logging the pasta.
-
Step 2
Next, open up that box. Hold the box so that when you squeeze the cardboard, this allows you to pull the cheese sauce packet out without spilling the pasta on the counter. Set the foil packet of cheese sauce on the stove top, about 3-4 inches from the burner you have the water on. This step preheats the sauce a bit, and allows it to more easily flow from the packet, and coat the pasta.
-
Step 3
The pasta will be done in about 10 minutes. While it is cooking, you can open a can of tuna, or slice a tomato or something to give the Mac and Cheese a little extra touch, or fill out the meal. once it is done cooking, drain it quickly, and get it right back into the pot. While it is still piping hot, add any other ingredients and open the cheese packet, squeeze it all out into the pasta, and stir it gently until the pasta is evenly coated.
-
Step 4
Allow it to cool for 2-3 minutes before doing anything else. You want the cheese to stick really well to the pasta and the only way it will do that is if you leave it alone for a moment. Divide it into bowls or move it to a serving dish, and put that cheese coated pot in the sink right now, and add hot water and soap. the cheese product in Deluxe mac and cheese is one of the few substances that will stick to Teflon.
