If you prefer your chocolate chip cookies on the chewy side as opposed to crunchy and crumbly, you are not alone. Millions of bakers have been trying to figure out how to keep that soft, chewy, fresh from the oven texture after the cookies have cooled. Here is the secret to chewy, jumbo chocolate chip cookies. You'll be amazed at how simple it really is.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ingredients for your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe
  • 1 extra egg yolk
  • Glass of milk
  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Step 2

Melt the butter called for in your recipe, and allow to cool until just warm.

  3. Step 3

Whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt.

  4. Step 4

Whisk the melted, warm butter together with the sugars. Beat in the egg and extra egg yolk. Stir in the dry ingredients followed by the chocolate chips.

  5. Step 5

Drop by 1/4 cups onto the parchment paper, and gently press to even out the thickness of the cookie dough. Bake at 325 F for 15 to 17 minutes, until the cookie is light brown, and the edges are just slightly darker than the rest. Remove from oven. Let stand on the baking sheet for one minute, then move to a rack to cool.

  6. Step 6

If you are not sure about your cookie recipe, use my favorite. You'll find the link below under Resources.

  7. Step 7

Serve warm or at room temperature with a glass of ice cold milk. Enjoy!
