How to Create a Telnet Server

Telnet is a network protocol for transmitting and receiving plain text information. It is completely command line based, and has no graphical component. It also sends information, including passwords, without any form of encryption. The Windows operating systems include the required software to create a telnet server or client without the use of third party applications. However, these services are not enabled by default in Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista, due to its inherent insecurities. For these two operating systems, the Telenet Server feature must be added before it can be utilized.
