Some 3D origami needs connectors in order to form certain geometric figures. The origami of Platonic Solids such as tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, and icosahedrons are formed using connectors except the dodecahedron. This is also useful is connecting the origami of equilateral triangles in order to make the origami of a soccer ball. A connector is always one-fourth of the square. For instance, when you try to connect four equilateral triangles in order to make a tetrahedron, the papers should have the same size or measurement and take one paper and divide it into four and use only one part for one connector. Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • any piece of paper r colored paper
  • scissor
  • table
  1. Step 1
     

    Take any piece of paper. The model is a square colored paper. Place it on the table.

  2. Step 2
     

    Fold the paper into four equal parts and cut.

  3. Step 3
     

    Take one part (one-fourth) of the square.

  4. Step 4
     

    Fold it into four equal parts. And observe the lines form and turn the paper.

  5. Step 5
     

    Fold one corner of the square and place the tip on the midpoint of the square. (The point of intersection of the two lines formed from folding.)

  6. Step 6
     

    Do the same procedure in Step 5 to the next consecutive corners.

  7. Step 7
     

    Same as Step 7.

  8. Step 8
     

    You have just make an origami connectors for geometric figures. Step 9 shows a sample on how to insert the connector between to equilateral triangles.
