Serve crab legs hot or cold.

Steaming is a quick, easy and healthy way to prepare crab legs, whether they are from the oversized king crab or the more delicate snow crab. Most crab legs sold in the United States are already cooked; all that's required is thawing and reheating. Steam a large pot for an outdoor get-together or a homey winter-night dinner. Serve them hot with a bit of clarified butter, and don't forget to supply the handy-dandy crab shell crackers. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the stove on to high heat. Fill the pot with several inches of water, add salt and bring it to a boil.

    • 2

Place your rinsed crab legs in the steamer section of the pot and cover.

    • 3

Steam the crab legs just until they are heated, about five to seven minutes. When you begin to smell the aroma of cooked crab, they are done.

    • 4

Carefully remove the crab legs from the pot with tongs. Serve them hot or cold.
