How to Make a Cat Collar

I love kittens and cats. I have three cats. I enjoy making them crafty things. They get excited when I make them something. These cat collars are not hard to make. You may want to make more than one they are so cute,

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• stretch elastic 1/4"wide
• fabric scraps or new 1/4 yd.
• thread
• sewing needle
• sewing machine
• craft bells

1. Take some pretty fabric of your choice cut it into 3"wide by the length you need to fit around your cat or kittens neck plus 1/2 ".

2. Take the narrow elastic (1/4'wide)and cut it in length by the neck measurement of your cat less 1'.

3. Sew the strip together down the edges and one end with the sewing machine. Leave one end open to turn inside out. Turn the strip inside out and press the seams flat with iron or finger press.

4. Put a safety pin on one end of the elastic pull the elastic through the opening while holding the other end well. Stretch the elastic some. When you get it through sew the ends of the elastic together. The elastic should not be twisted it should be laying flat.

   Sew up the open end by handstitching with needle and thread well. The collar should be gathered up a little. Sew on the craft bells by hand. Now your done. Your cat or kitten will love it!

Tips & Warnings

• Use a holiday Print for 4th of July,Halloween ,Christmas or Valentine's Day
• Use a kitty print for every day
• The bells will help you find the cat or kitty
• The kitten or cat may need a little time to get use to wearing the collar
