If you are a caramel lover, there's nothing like the sweet caramel flavor of fudge. Once you learn the technique of making this fudge, you'll be able to whip up a batch of these treats whenever you have a craving. Does this Spark an idea?

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons white corn syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

      Use a heavy pan to lightly brown 1 cup of the sugar.

      Very slowly add the rest of the sugar and all of the cream.

      Add the butter, corn syrup and salt.

      Cook the mixture until it reaches 230 degrees Fahrenheit (110 degrees Celsius). If you don't have a candy thermometer, you will know when the mixture is done when a teaspoonful of the mixture shapes into a soft ball when it is dropped into cold water.

      Remove your fudge mixture from the heat and beat it until the mixture begins to lose its glossiness and starts to get thick, about 15 minutes.

      Pour the fudge into a greased 8-inch-square pan. Allow the mixture to cool and harden, then cut into squares.
