Want to look like David Beckham? Michael from Prison Break? Get a sexy military hairstyle.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hair Clippers / Electric Shaver / Razor
  • Scissors (not required for everyone)
  1. Step 1

Go to a all-purpose store (Wal-Mart, Target, etc) or a specialty store and purchase either hair clippers ($20-$40), an electric shaver ($20-$30), or if you want to go fully bald up top, buy a razor and razor blades.

  2. Step 2

Open the item and find a safe location in your home with a mirror and a power outlet. A bathroom works nicely. You may want to cover your clothes or the floor in a towel for easy clean-up.

  3. Step 3

Plug in the hair clippers / electric shaver and select a length. You may need to attach a specific clip in this part. 1" is generally the longest attachment, with 1/8" or even 1/16" the shortest.

  4. Step 4

If your hair is long enough to firmly grab, you will need to cut it first. You don’t want the clippers or shaver grabbing your hair and pulling on it, because it hurts. Cut your hair from front to back, as short as you can.

  5. Step 5

Turn on the clippers / shaver and go to town on your head. Go over several areas of your head multiple times until your hair looks the same length over your entire head. Clean up and you’re done!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you want the top to look longer than the sides, you can use a special side attachment or setting usually included in the clipper / shaver kit. Each piece will need to be used on a specific side of your head (usually marked L (left) or R (right)). You can also use a razor here, but apply shaving cream first and go slow, especially if it’s your first time.
  • For a fully shaved head, use the smallest clipper / shaver attachment you can over your entire head and apply shaving cream after. Shave from front to back, using small but precise strokes with your razor, until all of your hair is gone. Be careful, especially with a fresh razor as you can cut yourself.
  • Remember you can always take hair off, but you can’t put it back on! If you're going for a specific style, be slow and cautious.
