Do you find it difficult to remember the amount of sugar substitute to use for your favorite recipe? Is it 1 cup or 1/2 cup? Getting the correct amount of sugar substitute can make a big difference in the taste of your recipe. Why not make your own chart? This simple chart contains some popular sugar substitutes and the equivalent sugar amounts.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 Columns
  • 6 Rows
  • Labels for Columns
  • Content within chart
  1. Step 1
    4 Columns
    4 Columns

    4 Columns - Using an Excel spreadsheet, create 4 columns. You will label these columns later.

  2. Step 2
    6 Rows
    6 Rows

    6 Rows - Now create 6 rows for your chart. These rows will soon contain the contents of your chart.

  3. Step 3

    Label the Columns - Now its time to label the columns of your chart. Label the 1st column 'Granulated Sugar', the 2nd column 'Equal', the 3rd column 'Splenda' and the 4th column 'Sweet'N Low'.

  4. Step 4

    Content within Chart - add the content for the columns as follows:

    1st column: Granulated sugar, add: 2 teaspoons, 1 tablespoon, 1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup

    Continue this for steps 5, 6, and 7

  5. Step 5

    2nd column: Equal, add: 1 packet, 1 1/2 packets, 6 packets, 8 packets, 12 packets

  6. Step 6

    3rd column: Splenda, add: 2 teaspoons, 1 tablespoon, 6 packets, 8 packets, 12 packets

  7. Step 7

    4th column: Sweet'N Low, add: 1/5 teaspoon, 1/3 teaspoon, 3 packets, 4 packets, 6 packets

Tips & Warnings
  • Take a look at the very first image in this article. That is the completed sugar substitute chart.
  • Change the colors for the different columns if that will help you to make sure you make the correct substitutions.
  • Check with your Physician before trying any sugar substitutes.
  • Remember although these substitutes are not sugar, the food may still contain calories. Moderation is key!
