Gas prices are soaring and it's becoming increasingly difficult to find cheap way to get around the United States. But don't worry: Megabus has you covered. They service routes to Albany, Ann Arbor, Boston, Chicago, Cinncinnati, Detroit, Columbus, Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Memphis, Philadelphia, Normal, Toronto, and Washington, to name just a few.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Credit Card or Debit Card
  • Planned travel dates between September 19 and November 19th
  • Online computer access
  • A Printer
  • A coupon code
  1. Step 1

Startup your web browser and go to www.megabus.com/us

  2. Step 2

In the middle section you will need to select the number of tickets, travel itinerary, outbound dates and returning dates.

  3. Step 3

In the Promotional Code box type "HOTDEAL"

  4. Step 4

If you don't need a return ticket or haven't thought that far out, you can leave Return Date as it is by default.

  5. Step 5

After you hit "Search" you will get a variety of results with different times and sometimes pickup locations. Cities like Minneapolis have multiple pickup/dropoff sites.

  6. Step 6

Purchase your ticket like other online purchases using a valid email, print your ticket, and get ready to travel!

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you choose the right city for departure and that the drop off or pickup site you desire is being serviced at that time of the year
  • Megabus, though a great service, can sometimes be a bit unreliable with pickup/dropoff times. Leave an hour open on either side of your scheduled time (be there an hour early or expect to be leaving/returning an hour late).
  • Bus drop off locations aren't bus depots. There road waysides, so be prepared for inclement weather
  • Carry a phone with Megabus's number to call in event of an emergency
