1
Speak with your college adviser to determine whether the college offers career services after graduation. Career services connect recent graduates with companies hiring in the graduate's field of study. You may also receive resume writing and interview preparation through the college's career services.
-
2
Prepare your resume to reflect your graduation and your job experience in business, if applicable. Provide your contact information such as your full name, phone number, email and address on the letterhead. Compile this information into a computer-processing document and print multiple copies to give to potential employers.
-
-
3
Search for job openings online or through newspaper listings for jobs pertaining to your degree. Search for listings for managers, supervisors, human resource employees, accountants, auditors or other listings specifying that an associate's degree in business is acceptable.
-
4
Attend job fairs. This way, you get to talk to many employers in a short span of time. Attend with the mindset you are going in for job interviews, so dress professionally and bring many copies of your resume and cover letter.
-
5
Visit the state employment office in your area for job openings. Many employers list openings for business degree positions through the employment office rather than newspapers or online services. Sign up with the employment office to send applications and resumes to companies you are interested in working for.
-
6
Attend interviews set up by career services, the employment office or through direct contact with companies. Bring a copy of your resume and discuss your previous experience and courses you took when obtaining your degree.
-
7
Contact each company approximately one week after the interview. Inquire about the status of your application and ask when you may hear back from the hiring manager. An applicant who is truly interested in working for the company will stand out to hiring managers and other personnel.
