Step 1
Line the pot with oil or grease then place the wax in the pot and keep it on a low flame till it is liquid. If you want to make many different colors separate the wax into different pots.

To color the wax take regular food coloring and put in the desired color. Alternatively you can place a crayon in the wax while melting
If you have a mold for the candles place the string in the center (leave some extra at the bottom) and pour one color. if you don't want the colors to mix, wait until it hardens then pour the second color etc. -
Step 3
If you are making regular candles; take the string and dip it into the pot. remove it instantly wait till it hardens and dip again. to make a self standing candle dip in the bottom first without the top and progressively move up.
