Talking with your doctor about symptoms need not be difficult. Learn how to talk with your doctor for them to understand your symptoms better !!

Things You'll Need:

  • pen/ pencil
  • paper
  1. Step 1

    Do you find it difficulty for your health care professional to understand your symptoms? When you say pain, dizziness, fatigue, or any other type of symptoms do you find that people do not understand what you mean? Well this information will help ?

  2. Step 2

    First , when you know you have an appointment to see any health care professional start to make a list of things you want to talk with them about.

  3. Step 3

    Then you need to describe what you mean for Example: pain- sharp , dull, achy, be very descriptive. You also need to tell them WHERE is the pain or other symptoms located.

  4. Step 4

    ALWAYS REMEMBER: THE WHO, WHAT, WHERE , WHEN, WHY AND HOW. That will help you to describe what you are trying to tell them. When people say pain for example, it is hard to understand what type of pain, pain is different from person to person. It is described by many people differently so be VERY descriptive!!!! take your list in to the doctors with you, we do not remember to tell the doctor everything and sometimes the doctor has limited time...This help to remember what you wanted to tell the health care professonal.
