If you ever wondered how to make fresh blueberry lemonade please read on. Many people are big fans of regular lemonade and this little twist on the ingredients will soon become one of your favorites. It's perfect for kids and adults and will be enjoyed by all on hot summer days and while entertaining. Blueberry lemonade can be hard to find in stores and if you do find it it can be very expensive. Here's how you can make it yourself with fresh ingredients.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup plus 2 tbsp. granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 cup water, plus extra to top off glasses
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries
  • 1−1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 10 big lemons, including pulp but not seeds)
  1. Step 1

First make a simple syrup by combining 1 cup each of sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the mixture boils. Lower the heat and allow the syrup to simmer for another minute. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  2. Step 2

In a blender or food processor, puree the blueberries with 2 tablespoons of sugar until smooth.

  3. Step 3

In a pitcher, combine the cooled syrup, lemon juice and blueberry
puree. To serve, pour 1/4 to 1/3 cup of base into a glass and fill with
water and ice if desired. Makes base for 12 servings.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add some leaves of fresh mint to the glasses.
  • Before juicing lemons, place them (whole) in microwave for about 10 seconds each, then use your hand to roll each one firmly against the counter. This will get the most juice out.
