  1. Step 1

    The first place to check on any online job is to contact the Federal Trade Commission at (877)-382-4357 or at ftc.gov. They will be able to tell you about any class action lawsuits filed against the company.

  2. Step 2

    The second place to check is with the Better Business Bureau at bbb.org. This web site will tell you of any complaints filed against the company.

  3. Step 3

    Search the internet for the company's name using the words "fraud" or "scam" at google.com. If there are any reviews, good or bad, you will find them here.

  4. Step 4

    Lastly, before you sign up for ANYTHING, use the internet thoroughly to find any and all information about the company. Make sure to read all information and fine print before signing up. Many times when they something is free, in the fine print you will find that it is in fact not free.
